Laura Fasman

Laura is a Yoga and strength teacher, personal trainer, and our studio manager. She is a Perinatal Exercise Specialist, certified by Pronatal Fitness and in Prenatal Yoga by Folk SF, where she also completed her 200hr training. She has taught throughout the Bay Area, but she calls The Well Studio her home.

Through her Yoga offerings, she hopes to empower her students to discover and honor their intuition and care for themselves as they explore the ancient teachings. The emphasis of her group classes are on self-care and empowerment. Options and modifications are integral to each session, allowing everyone to choose what works for them on any given day.

Laura is an NASM certified personal trainer, bringing in the same considerations and mindset to training as she does in her public classes. Training with her means you will be encouraged to care for yourself, working towards empowerment, self-discovery, self-love, mental and physical wellbeing, and increased confidence. She believes there is a space for all people within a fitness setting because fitness is a broad term, encompassing many modalities and many experiences. Your uniqueness will be kept in mind, while you are guided compassionately towards each goal you set.

Her personal favorite ways to move include Yoga asana, walking, hiking, resistance training, kayaking, and Pilates reformer. She loves Hot Yoga, Restorative, and Bhakti the most! When she is not moving her body or guiding her clients, you can find her caring for her pet rabbit, exploring cafes, bookstores, and vegan restaurants, meditating, attending teacher trainings, reading, writing poetry, and treating herself to self-care. Though her passion lies in the pregnant and postpartum community, she has not had the privilege of becoming a parent yet herself. Her knowledge comes from listening and learning with an open mind and heart to both her teachers and students throughout their journey into parenthood and beyond. She believes in the power of movement before, during, and after this transition, trusting the ongoing research to guide her as she supports her client base. She also emphasizes the importance of community during this time and encourages open communication between students before and after class. Historically, it has been elders who guided birthing people into and through the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum phases. Therefore, the space she holds includes people in pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and even parenthood and grandparenthood stages when helpful. As you progress through your journey at the studio, seek her out for a session, or drop into class to experience her compassionate support and passion for sharing knowledge with and caring deeply for this beautiful, diverse community.
